a calm and quiet baseline
Withdrawal symptoms are sad. Luckily I had never experienced any drug withdrawal symptoms, but the idea of withdrawal symptoms is pretty common in life - you are dependent on something and you introduce more complexity in your life, and if you are stuck on a desert island you won’t feel good.
I immediately think of the time when I thought of baselines.
I can expand and think about the concept and mechanic of non-drug withdrawal symptoms. At its core, it probably means getting used to something, becoming too reliant, especially every day you rely on it costs you a little.
One thing I can immediately think of that I rely on is hypnosis. I rely on all the shades and depths of hypnosis where the world becomes …this, any possible feeling made possible by English and belief. I rely on hypnosis a lot because it’s genuinely the best thing in my life.
And for other things, I rely on a teeny shower before bed so I feel clean. I often rely on hot water in the morning so I can start feeling cozy.
Maybe the idea is that some needs are simple and material. And some needs seem simple, but they actually make you too happy.
The idea is that do not be happy for too long. Could you believe this idea? All of the “baseline” mechanics could be understood as “graph high is good but graph low is good.”
Why does this almost seem like a challenge to make the graph be continuous and differentiable but make the second derivative graph have as much net area as possible.
Because if we were to expand upon this we have the idea of neuroplasticity and about how the brain is flexible. When it comes to describing things now everything is relative and the importance and the reward and emotions that you came from a different things is all relative as well if we are used to estate in which something small is enough to be particular like being suddenly interested in a particularly weird flower on the ground lying there then gives you broad and it may even be more rewarding then say you are infinitely rich and by lots of stuff. Yes, and because reward is relative to your baseline all we have to do is to make the baseline be low. There is a relieving fact, by saying that being really famous means you won’t have exponential increases in satisfaction!
